Donneurs de sens – Season 1, episode 7
Héma-Québec’s research and development activities
Héma-Québec’s research and development laboratory plays a important role in advancing scientific knowledge and supporting Héma-Québec’s operations, both on the ground and behind the scenes.
The lab and its team both do applied research, to support its own operations, and take a pure research approach, to drive longer-term innovation.
In operations research, the teams do research to find solutions to day-to-day operation issues, such as the design and features of the new boxes used to transport blood products from Héma-Québec facilities to hospitals. The design may seem simple, but it needs to keep the products at a steady temperature in all sorts of environments in order to maintain their quality.
In this seventh episode of Héma-Québec’s Donneurs de sens podcast, host Chu Anh Pham is joined by Dr. Marc Germain and Dr. Andrés Finzi to talk about how their teams worked together to study seroprevalence during the COVID-19 pandemic.
