Héma-Québec Welcomes the Government’s Decision

Bill 7

Montréal, February 24, 2026 – Héma-Québec welcomes the decisions made by the government regarding Bill 7, which are consistent with the conclusions of the report it submitted in January 2026 to the Chair of the Conseil du trésor, France-Élaine Duranceau. The report is available on Héma-Québec’s website: Héma-Québec’s Recommendations Regarding Bill 7 | Héma-Québec. The letter sent to Héma-Québec by Minister Duranceau in response to these recommendations can be read here

Héma-Québec also welcomes the government’s vote of confidence reflected in the amendments to the Loi sur Héma-Québec et sur le Comité de biovigilance. These amendments could allow Héma-Québec to take on new mandates, including the promotion of organ donation across Québec. Héma-Québec believes it would be beneficial for organ donation promotion to be carried out jointly with the promotion of human tissue donation, for which it is already responsible.
