Submission of a Brief as Part of Consultations on Bill 7

Québec City, November 25 – Héma-Québec submitted a brief today to the National Assembly’s Committee on Public Finance as part of the special consultations on Bill 7, An Act to reduce bureaucracy, increase state efficiency and reinforce the accountability of senior public servants, which would assign to Héma-Québec the responsibility for coordinating the organ donation and transplantation process—which are currently carried out by Transplant Québec.

The brief sets out the rationale explaining why Héma-Québec welcomes this new responsibility. The document is available (in French only) on Héma-Québec’s website: https://www.hemaquebec.ca/sites/default/files/public/document/memoire-projet-loi-7.pdf.
