As the exclusive supplier of blood products in Quebec, Héma-Québec is responsible for recruiting donors, doing the collecting, analyzing and processing the donations, and delivering the products to the hospitals.
Resources
Every day, Héma-Québec receives about 200 orders from the hospitals that it serves across the province. Annually, it provides roughly 300,000 labile blood products to meet the needs of recipients.
The blood components processed by Héma-Québec consist of red blood cells, platelets, plasma, and granulocytes. Every product is thoroughly prepared in order to meet a specific need.

Rare Blood Program: a collective effort to meet unique needs
Created in 2023, Héma-Québec's Rare Blood Program aims to ensure optimal care for patients with rare blood types.
