Health Canada’s Special Access Program

Health Canada’s Special Access Program (SAP) allows, in certain exceptional circumstances, access to drugs not authorized for sale by Health Canada when available treatment options are ineffective, inappropriate, or nonexistent. 

As part of its mission, Héma-Québec participates in the procurement and distribution of certain products available through the SAP, in accordance with authorizations granted by Health Canada.

• review the steps for placing an order and the specific requirements for certain products. 

Process for obtaining products offered under the PAS  

To obtain products available under the PAS, an application must be submitted to and approved by Health Canada using the appropriate form, following the procedure described on Health Canada’s PAS website at the following address: Request a drug through the Special Access Program (Health Canada’s website).
