Stem cell collection – collection centres
Héma-Québec coordinates unrelated peripheral stem cell and bone marrow donations in collaboration with the Centre intégré de cancérologie de Québec and the Maisonneuve-Rosemont Hospital. It also provides care and support for donors.
Héma-Québec has prepared a guide that describes the process for evaluating donors for the collection of unrelated stem cells and leukocytes for individuals registered in the Héma-Québec Stem Cell Donor Registry.
Its purpose is not to replace the internal policies and procedures of collection centres, but rather to indicate the minimum requirements that must be met in order to comply with the regulations and standards established by Health Canada and the World Marrow Donor Association (WMDA).
