Stem cell transplantation – transplant centres

The registry's services include coordinating all stages involved in supplying safe products to transplant centres, from finding compatible donors to transporting the product for transplantation. Transplant centres are located at the Centre intégré de cancérologie, Maisonneuve-Rosemont Hospital, CHU Ste-Justine, McGill University Health Centre Royal Victoria Hospital, and Montreal Children's Hospital.

Héma-Québec has prepared a guide that describes the process of finding unrelated donors and compatible cord blood units, selecting donors and preparing them for donation, and acquiring cord blood units.

Its purpose is not to replace the internal policies and procedures of transplant centres, but rather to indicate the minimum requirements that must be met in order to comply with the regulations and standards established by Health Canada and the World Marrow Donor Association (WMDA).
