4. Because it can be done more often than donating whole blood

Have you heard the stories of inspiring people who have made 500, 1,000, 1,500 donations? Those are plasma donations. Since you can donate blood only a few times a year (every 54 days for men; 84 for women), it is by donating plasma that you can most frequently contribute to the cause: everyone can do so every 6 days!
