Netiquette

By its presence on social media, Héma-Québec hopes to create spaces for a meaningful exchange of ideas and encourage discussion between all Internet users interested in the organization’s activities.

The content posted by Héma-Québec is accessible to everyone. In turn, Héma-Québec expects Internet users to engage in cordial and respectful dialogue. To maintain a harmonious atmosphere, some rules apply.

Rules of Good Conduct

Internet users are responsible for the content they post on Héma-Québec’s social media and must abide by the current netiquette and terms of use of each social media platform.

Héma-Québec does not accept posted content that:

 

  • is defamatory, abusive, heinous, harassing, racist, xenophobic, homophobic, sexist, threatening or fraudulent; 
  • violates the rights of other persons, such as the right to privacy; 
  • contravenes the law; 
  • violates the intellectual property rights of other persons; 
  • is indecent, obscene or pornographic; 
  • takes the form of advertising or promotional solicitations; 
  • is intended to damage the computer equipment of other persons or to disseminate viruses or contaminate files; 
  • makes abusive use of capital letters (the electronic equivalent of shouting) 
  • is posted repeatedly (spam).

Héma-Québec reserves the right, at its sole discretion and without prior notice, to hide or delete all content that does not comply with these terms of use. In the event of significant or repeated abuse, Héma-Québec also reserves the right to bar a subscriber temporarily or permanently from its social media.

Héma-Québec may also change this netiquette or shut down one of its social media without prior notice.

Content

The content posted by Héma-Québec on its social media covers topics of interest related to Héma-Québec’s mission, for example blood, plasma, mother’s milk, stem cell and human tissue donations, as well as volunteering. Comments must be relevant and related to the content of the topics posted. They can be deleted without prior notice if Héma-Québec deems that they interfere with the discussion that is taking place.

A hyperlink may be included in a comment, provided it leads to a site or article that is directly connected to the topic of conversation.

Héma-Québec reserves the right to reshare public content in which Internet users have questioned its social media accounts or identified themselves in one of its facilities

The content posted by Internet users does not represent Héma-Québec’s point of view or official position. Héma-Québec does not guarantee the accuracy of the content posted by others and is not responsible for the use made of its social media content.

Advertising

Only targeted advertising that meets specific recruitment needs is used by Héma-Québec and its partner agencies.

Language of Use

Héma-Québec posts its content in French and English. Questions submitted in the preferred language of the requester will be answered in that language, provided it is French or English.

Protection of Personal and Confidential Information

Internet users are responsible for their statements and verification of the accuracy of the claims they make and the information they provide. They are also responsible for protecting and respecting the privacy of others by not posting confidential or personal information.

Social media are public. Internet users fully assume the risks involved in posting confidential information on Héma-Québec’s social media. Héma-Québec may not be held liable for any breach of confidentiality.

Response Time

Héma-Québec ensures that comments and answers to questions, where applicable, are handled in a timely manner. However, organizational Web pages are not monitored 24/7.
