Every year, thousands of people donate their time to Héma-Québec. Without them, Héma-Québec’s mission would be impossible. They greet and support donors at blood drives and donation centres, recruit donors in their community, take part in workshops to help members of the public find out their blood types—and much more!

Paul, president of the Association of Blood Donation Volunteers (Mauricie–Centre du Québec chapter), shares what inspired him to get involved with Héma Québec and the impact that blood, plasma and stem cell donations have on the lives of thousands of people.

Nadia, a permanent volunteer at Héma‑Québec, shares her perspective on this alternative way to give back and support the organization’s mission. Nadia wanted to donate blood but wasn’t eligible, so she chose to give her time instead. Today, she’s talking about the special connection that donors and recipients share.
Being able to help people and receive their appreciation in return motivates me to keep going.

Djamilatou, a volunteer with Héma-Québec, shares how she got involved with the ABDV’s youth chapter, a group of passionate young volunteers. As a nursing student, she values the sense of community care that leads people to donate platelets, plasma and blood, and encourages people to get involved.
